Myth #1: It’s Ok to Use the Same Skin Care Products in the Morning and Evening

Some morning skin care products do such a great job that you are tempted to use them all the time. But just because one product worked well in the morning, it doesn’t mean it will work well at night as well.

At daytime, your focus is protection whereas at nighttime, your focus on deep cleansing. Therefore, you can’t use the same products.

Myth #2: SPF in My Makeup Is Enough to Keep Me Protected from the Sun

You must understand that SPF in makeup is extremely small in proportion. It can’t offer you enough sun protection. Therefore, whether you like it or not, you will have to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen. Choose the one that provides protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Myth #3: Anti-Bacterial Soap Keeps Your Skin Clean

It is normal for our skin to have bacteria. You can’t make it completely bacteria free all the time. If you use an anti-bacterial soap to keep your skin bacteria free, antibiotic-resistant bacteria will appear on your skin. Therefore, it’s best to use regular soap for your skin on a daily basis.

Myth #4: Scars Fade Away with the Use of Vitamin E

This is one of the most commonly believed myth. The truth is, there’s very little evidence that supports this claim. If you have scars on your face or any other part of your body, talk to your dermatologist. Don’t use Vitamin E on your own.

Myth #5: Wearing Makeup Regularly Makes Your Skin Age Faster

If you are a makeup junkie, it’s time to take a sigh of relief. Makeup doesn’t make your skin age as long as you are properly removing it at the end of the day.

There so many makeup products out there that are meant to protect, nourish, and improve our skin. Once you have removed the makeup before going to bed, make sure you cleanse your face too. That way, you won’t break out.

Myth #6: The Harder You Exfoliate the Better

Excessive scrubbing and exfoliating are not really good for your skin. It makes your skin dry and brittle. Therefore, skin experts recommend exfoliating 2 to 3 times a week. Our skin needs to regenerate, too. For instant satisfaction, we end scrubbing harder but that does more damage than good.

When it comes to exfoliation, the less the better. Otherwise, it will take away the moisture from your skin and leave it susceptible to infections. This might even cause free radical, clogged pores, and wrinkles.

Myth #7: Oily Skin Doesn’t Need Moisturizing

Not really. We all use a cleanser as a part of our daily skin care routine. Some cleaners have the tendency to strip the natural oil away from our skin. That means it’s now necessary for you to moisturize.

Regardless of your skin type, you must keep your skin hydrated and nourished by using a moisturizer. Dermatologists suggest using a light product such as a lotion or a serum instead of heavy cream.

Myth #8: Oily Skin Does Not Get Wrinkles

Oily skin is thicker which means it can fend off wrinkles easily as compared to dry skin. Women who have oily skin have a higher level of testosterone. It helps them protect against reduced collagen and wrinkles. But that does not mean oily skin will never look old. If oily skin, like all other skin types, is not taken care of, it can develop wrinkles fast.

Myth #9: Your Skin Gets Used to Products After a While

We don’t just hear this myth, some of us have felt it too. The reality is it all depends on the active ingredients present in the product. Our skin is capable of acclimating to Vitamin A derivatives like Tazorac, retinoids, Differin. However, that’s not the case with moisturizers, peptide, and antioxidants.

Improvements often stop when you have reached the capacity of the product to change. That does not mean your skin is not used to the product.

Myth #10: Use Skin Care Products from the Same Brand for Better Results

That’s not true at all. You should try a variation of products from different brands depending on what suits your skin.

Don’t believe everything people say about skincare or anything else. Not even if they say frontier support number takes longer to respond. Only believe after verification.
