It is a very famous Chinese dish served on the streets as a street food and even it is also available in the restaurants. Scallion pancakes are also sold commercially by wrapping it in the plastic packages. There are different styles available in the world to cook this dish. Because it is fried in the pan and made of dough, it is made crispy and chewy at the same time.
Ingredients & Recipe of Scallion Pancakes
- All purpose flour
- Salt as per the taste
- Some boiling water
- Some cold water
- Vegetable oil
- Small pieces of scallions
Add all purpose flour and salt into one large container and stir it with boiling water and immediate after mixing the dough well add some cold water into it to form the dough accurately. Then keep it for 10 minutes in the open and then cover the dough container with a cloth and keep it for 40 minutes. Now keep dough on the floured surface and divide it into four equal pieces.
Now pick one piece of dough and round it proper and roll it for large thin disk now apply some vegetable oil on it and sprinkle some salt all over then add some scallion pieces in a round then cover fold the thin disk and again roll it for little thick disk this time and likewise make other pancakes. Now add some oil on the pan and fry the disks on it till each one of it turns golden brown. And then serve it with different types of sauces and veggies.
