When you have not tendered before and are wondering how you can prepare your business for tendering (without the stress of a looming deadline), then there is plenty which you can do to ensure that you and your business are prepared to answer the typical questions without difficulty and produce an excellent start to the different regions of your response. To get you started, below we have provided some common questions which are requested in an Open ITT (Invitation to Tender) or Restricted SQ (Selection Questionnaire). In addition to the completion of various declarations, types, and certificates, in our experience, the next questions are typical of a scale tender process. That doesn't assume to incorporate all questions that might be raised into a tender and is an indicative list. It is provided to provide an idea of content and enable you to prepare for tenders, with no strain of the associated deadlines.   • Company Name 
  • Registered Office Address 
  • Website Address 
  • Trading Status/Type of Business or Organisation (e.g. Private, Private Limited Company, Partnership Local Authority, Government Agency, Voluntary Body, Registered Charity, etc.) 
  • Date of registration and enrollment number. This is the business number issued by Companies House. Charity Registration Number. 
  • DUNS number is the reference number specific to your organization that issued and is created by Dunn and Bradstreet. 
  • VAT number 

Registration with associations, this may be a trade-related register or membership that is particular to your industry, registration with the Environment Agency for trash carriers, by way of instance, or even with NICEIC for electrical installation solutions. 
Awarded under this procurement Company classification (e.g. voluntary, sheltered workshop, public service mutual) 
SME status 
Persons of which may be located on Companies House of Significant Control details

Financial Information
A financial evaluation is usually undertaken, this might be in award or as an element of due diligence in the SQ stage. Insurance 

  • Details of insurance policies are asked. It is typical for Authorities to ask to determine coverages, again within this SQ stage or during checks. Buyers will state their insurance limitations of liability required in case you be prosperous in winning the contract. Public Liability

Accreditation/Trade Bodies/Associations 
Provide names and addresses of any accredited bodies and/or industry associations to which your Business belongs which would be relevant to the Contract 

List any other applicable professional/trade accreditations. 
At a buyer's discretion in each procurement, they may also ask about: Quality Do you have an accredited quality management program? How do you ensure quality in the shipping of your products/services? Is your Business IS9000 licensed, (If not, do you have an in-house quality control system)? Equality & Diversity You may also be asked questions such as, Along with being asked to provide your Equality/Diversity Policy: Have you been able to provide diversity and equality training to supervisors and staff? Are you able to report and consult on equality issues? It is your legal obligation as an employer to comply with statutory obligations. Please confirm the status regarding the same of that your organization. In the previous few years has your business been the subject of any formal evaluation by the Commission for Racial Equality, The Equal Opportunities Commission or the Disability Rights Commission on grounds of alleged unlawful discrimination?  Health and Safety should you use more than five people you're required to have a Health and Safety Policy. Does your organization have a proven 

Health and Safety Policy adapting to UK National Legislation? If this is so, enclose a copy of the tender directions ask. You might also be asked about your Health and Safety Training. If you employ more than five people the Health and Safety at Work etc..
