What is the Future of Online Teaching?

Online teaching has become an essential part of education. It is playing a vital role nowadays due to the current pandemic going on all over the world. In the past few years, the need for online teaching has grown tremendously due to the various benefits that it offers to an individual. The primary benefit is the flexibility of the location. Educators, as well as learners, can conduct and attend online classes from anywhere in the world

Therefore, it avoids the physical barrier of both the educators and learners by connecting them globally online without having to travel.

The traditional classroom approach will not provide flexibility to the educators and learners as they have to travel to the location. The main disadvantage here is that the students who wish to pursue their education while maintaining a side job or any other activity cannot attend the class. Online learning is the boon to many learners who want to learn and also to the educators who can't make it physically to the location.

The second benefit is that both educators and learners can conduct and attend the class anytime. Unlike in a traditional approach, where the classes' timing is fixed, online education allows one to sync their time, which helps them maintain the work-life or work-study balance. All one needs here is an active internet connection and a device.

Online teaching is very interactive and innovative. Here, educators and learners can connect on a deep level while making the session more interactive. Also, educators can understand and study each of the learners on a one-to-one level. It can help them to make understand a particular topic better to the learner after knowing their learning pace.

On the other hand, traditional learning can be interactive or innovative but most of the time the educators have to stick to the universities or institutes syllabus. They have to complete the syllabus in a stipulated amount of time so they can lack this approach. Also, as the educators have to teach the entire group of students, it becomes difficult to know each student's pace and understand them on a one-to-one level

Online teaching is beneficial to educators as they can make online courses and sell them to many students around the globe. On the other hand, it is also beneficial to the learners as they have to spend less money than traditional education.

Many learners like to test their knowledge by practising online test series, quizzes, Questionaire, etc. It is an innovative and fun way of learning hence more learners opt for this method as opposed to paper-based tests.

The biggest factor that helps in the contribution of good online teaching is the online teaching platform. The platform should be reliable enough to bridge the gap between the educators and the learners.

The platform should be easy to use i.e. user-friendly. It should be simple so that educators can create innovative and compelling courses for learners without any doubt. The learners should be able to connect and gain knowledge easily.

The Online teaching platform should be secure. Security is the biggest concern when it comes to any teaching platform. The flow of digital content should be protected with maximum security to make the most of this platform. The educators should be able to share digital content like documents, solutions or videos securely. If it provides this feature, then educators and learners can rely fully on the platform and gain maximum benefit from online teaching

The platform should have an interactive interface. Let's face it. Nobody likes a dull interface when it comes to using any type of platform. If the online teaching platform does not fulfil the purpose of an interactive interface, it will fail the learners' engagement as opposed to traditional learning where the platform is not a problem.

To increase the reach of online teaching to a wider audience, the platform should need to be a Social platform in nature. The platform would be of no use if it cannot reach the potential learners. A social feature will help them to connect with various educators, learners, universities, etc from different educational backgrounds.

Online teaching should be followed by sharing capabilities. It will be better for educators and learners to benefit from not only one platform but also multiple platforms. Once a course is published on a particular online platform, the educators should be able to share it within multiple social media sites, websites, etc. Only then it can be useful to make it reach to a wider community of learners.

Many universities and institutions are already coming up with online teaching solutions to smooth learning flow. It is mainly beneficial for learners who are juggling between their careers, looking for a budget-friendly alternative, studying part-time, etc. Many educational institutes will soon adapt to online education as the demand for it is increasing today.

The technology has become more advanced and to embrace that, and one needs to make the most of online teaching. Instead of looking at the disadvantages, educators should try to deliver quality content, and the learners should gain more knowledge from it.

To conclude, Online teaching will form a major part of education in the future. Many educational institutes and universities are already integrating online approach in the overall education. While it can still be a concern for learners who don't have an internet connection and device to make online learning, this issue should also be taken into consideration. However, the rise in the digital world will surely open up more opportunities for educators and learners to explore and gain a better understanding of online education.
