"At the end of the day, the goals are simple: safety and security" - Jodi Rell. Safety and security is what we all commonly aspire to have in all areas of our lives, especially workplace. Thus, in order to ensure industrial safety, the Government of India initiated a Diploma in Safety Management program. This program is initiated for all the aspiring students and who are willing to kick-start a career in safety management, and do something for industrial safety.

Everyone working in any organization deserves a safe and healthy working environment, thus health and safety measures are an important part of any business. Industrial safety course ensures that the work for everybody in the organization is running smoothly.  Through this diploma course the aspiring students will get acquainted with the occupational risks, health issues, and other risks factors related to the safety of the organization.

This Diploma in Safety Management is specially designed to empower the knowledge, skills, and awareness regarding the industrial safety and environment associated with workplace. In order to ensure efficient operations at lowest possible costs, along with employees’ health and well being, organizations must stick to constant safety measures as per their needs.

Industrial safety courses will help the aspirants to get proper training with best educational resources and assistance, and train them to learn how to keep the workplace safe and healthy. It must be noted that the safety practices will depend entirely on the situation and facility risk in that particular scenario.

For example, let’s talk about the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. In 1984, on 2nd and 3rd December, a gas leak tragedy happened at UCIL in Bhopal. This leak caused around 558,125 injuries, including 38,478 temporary partial injuries and approximately 3,900 severely and permanently disabling injuries. As believed, the tragedy took place because of overdue routine pipe maintenance and lazy management, which caused backflow of water into a MIC tank.

This tragedy could have been avoided with better safety and health measures. But at that time, due to less awareness and negligence nothing could be done. The effects of this gas tragedy are still running in the air of Madhya Pradesh and other parts of India. If the employees of UCIL were well calculated with the risk and hazards at the work place, and they have known what could be the effects of their negligence, this big tragedy would have been avoided.

Industrial safety course or Diploma in Safety Management will train the individuals to process the risk analysis and health measures necessary at a work place. Risk assessment is only a part of safety and health. People willing to follow a career in Industrial Safety can also begin with in-house training at their respective organisations, if any.
