The South Korean tech giant- Samsung has always launched their flagship smartphones in the Autumn season of every year, i.e. in August. This year also everyone is waiting for Samsung's official announcement for their new flagship smartphone. After the magnificent launch of their flagship smartphones of S series, everyone is eagerly waiting for the next one- Galaxy Note 20 series.
The Samsung Galaxy S series came in three models- S20, S2O+, and S20 Ultra. Many people were speculating that their new flagship smartphones of Galaxy Note 20 would also come in three models- Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20+, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. But later in a tweet Ross young, the CEO and founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) clarified that there will be no launch of the third model- Galaxy Note 20 Ultra this year. Only two models of the Galaxy Note 20 series will be launched.
The Galaxy Note 20 will have a 120Hz screen.
With the news of this upcoming series, there were several speculations related to its Refresh rate. The Galaxy Note 20 series of Samsung became the centre of attraction for all the tech lovers, with the leak that this phone will feature a 120Hz refresh rate. Many rumours were around the corner about this.
Earlier, there were rumours that all the Galaxy Note 20 series variants will feature a 120Hz refresh rate. But later on, it was said that the Galaxy Note 20 basic variant will not have a 120Hz refresh rate. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will only have a 60Hz refresh rate. And the next supreme variant- Galaxy Note 20+ will feature a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will have a 60Hz refresh rate with an LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) backplane technology. The LTPS backplane is less supreme than the LTPO backplane. Though the next variant- Galaxy Note 20+ will have a 120Hz refresh rate with an LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) backplane technology. It will be helpful to reduce the speed of updates when the screen is not in use.
Samsung's next flagship upgrade technology for note 20 series.
Samsung will be among one of the companies that use an LTPO backplane technology. Apple also wants to use this magnificent technology in its flagship smartphones. But it may take up to 2021, for Apple to launch its smartphones with the LTPO backplane technology. As the Cupertino firm already has some patents related to LTPO.
The reason was given by Ross Young, the CEO, and founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) was that the 120Hz Refresh rate at least requires a powerful LTPO backplane technology. And with a 60Hz Refresh rate, only the LTPS backplane technology could support it. Also, the LTPS backplane production costs much lesser than the LTPO backplane. The basic variant of the Galaxy Note 20 series will obviously cost less than the supreme variants of that series. So, if a customer is paying a higher amount he/she should have more quality features than the basic variant of less price. In the official tweet by Ross Young, he said this only, “You can use 120Hz and LTPS, but it consumes a lot of energy. LTPO is the best implementation for 120Hz.”
Samsung Next flagship note 20 series have a huge display.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will be having a 6.42 -inch display. It is supposed to be sporting a high display resolution of 2345×1084 with around 404 PPI (pixel per inch) that will help your picture and video quality to be at a satisfactory level and will be having a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ will grow from 6.8 -inch to 6.87 -inch display. The display resolution will be magnificent with an increase of 3096×1444 and 497 PPI which will let your pixels be tightly bound and get you some amazing captures and 19.3:9 aspect ratio.
