Mobile recharge is now available on Google Search for android users

  • In the search results, Google will give the option to carry out a Mobile Recharge as one of the sections
  • You will need to give the 10 digits mobile number that you wish to recharge as well as the network provider and the circle of which the number is native of
  • Once you have filled the above details you can click on the Browse Plan which will show all the prepaid plans available with the network provider
  • Once you choose the plan of your liking the payment can be made using Google Pay, Freecharge, Mobikwik, and Paytm. You will be directed to the service provider’s website once you click in the service provider’s name
  • After the transaction is finished, ‘Back to Google’ will take you back to your search results on the Google Search or Google Chrome app.

 

Apart from ‘Prepaid mobile recharge’ the other keywords that can be used to activate this are ‘SIM Recharge’. As time goes more options of wallets and network providers are expected to be included in this service.

 

The feature may not be available currently to all providers due to technical compatibility reasons, however, in the future; these will be extended to all Android devices. With the launch of this service, Google is adding a lot of flexibility to the customers who are looking for a quicker way to do mobile recharge. Apart from Google, the customers can also use the Airtel Thanks App on their smartphones to do quick recharges. They can do recharge for any number with any network provider and also use net banking, credit/debit card, and Airtel Payments Bank for payments.
