Dumplings is a most famous dish in the northern part of China and it is mostly had by the Chinese on the eve of New Year and even throughout the year. But it has it’s place among different places in the world. Dumplings are the buns stuffed in with chicken or vegetables. It is baked on steam and is served with spicy sauces. In some of the Chinese functions it is added to the starter’s menu. Now, steam it in the multi-level steamer and serve it with the yummy and spicy sauces.
Ingredients & Recipe of Chinese Dumplings
Ingredients :
For Dumpling Dough :
- Flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Sugar
- Butter
- Milk
For Stuffing :
- Cabbage
- Ground pork
- Some chopped scallions
- Chopped garlic
- Some ginger
- Sesame oil
- Soy sauce
For Sauce:
- Some soy sauce
- Some rice vinegar
- Thin slices of scallions
- Some toasted sesame seeds
- Black pepper
Recipe Process :
First of all to make the dough for dumplings, take a big container and mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and butter all together. And then stir it in milk slowly to make the soft dough. Now keep it at least for 2 hours or unless the dough is ready and little fluffy.
Mean while keep ready the filler for stuffing. Chop the cabbage into very small pieces or you can take the help of chopper to cut it in the perfect required size then add some salt into it and mix it well then soak it with a towel to reduce the released water from the cabbage. Now add pork, scallions, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and soy sauce properly and mix it with hands. Do not mix it hard hands; keep it soft for better filling.
Now take a dumpling wrapper in your palm and add one spoon filling into it then dip your fingers in the water and apply it on the edges of the wrapper now fold it in the half moon shape and then with the help of thumbs make little pleats from both sides and then cover the upper part properly and repeat the same process to make the required numbers of dumplings.
