Enfield History Details:

Royal Enfield has it’s historical origin during the 19th Century by the founder named Albert Edie and R.W. Smith. During their period company with the different name used to manufacture rifle parts and bicycles for the royal army in Enfield. During 1901 the first model of Royal Enfield was built. Later during the world war One & Two Royal Enfield bullets were used to carry the war weapons on it. Company then launched first 350cc engine motor-bike with 4 strokes in 1924. And later there were many changes made in the designs to make them more powerful and easy to carry the heavy joint war-weapon on it.

Royal Enfield in India:

Indian government was looking for two wheelers for border patrolling in 1955, when Royal Enfield was first introduced to India. And Indian army had ordered 800 bullets with 350cc engine. So, the company with the name Redditch joined it’s hands with Indian Madras Motors company to deliver the required units.

After a while Madras Motors started producing two wheeler bikes by themselves. It was an indigenous moment in the country. Royal Enfield collaborated with Eicher Group in the year 1990 and later in 1994 it merged with the Group. Royal Enfield is having it’s Headquarters in Chennai, India with the annual manufacturing capacity of near 7,00,000 units. Company’s net revenue is more than 7,000 Crore.
