Since, last January, he announced that he was going to have a baby with his partner Sinisa Mackovic (for Instagram, it would be more, with a series of black and white photos of his friend the film director Jim Jarmusch), Chloë Sevigny has reinvented our imaginary of the maternity style with the images that it has been dosing on its social networks.
She is the unofficial face of the New York creative scene, although the fashion world first met her as it-girl and as a model in the 1990s. Between cameos in video clips of The Lemonheads or Sonic Youth, or her role in Larry Clark's cult classic, Kids (1995), we also saw her on the pages of teen magazines like Sassy (a kind of dreamlike rite of passage for that young woman from Connecticut who learned to sew in her spare time).
From the first day, it has always had that experimental and vintage style that would define the hipster look of the first decade of this century. Even when we've seen her on the red carpet. Let's not forget her pink feather couture Chanel that she wore for the 2018 Venice Film Festival or Mugler's look (with which she passed all levels of fashion) for the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. We also have her runway appearances (Opening Ceremony, Simone Rocha, Miu Miu), in which she has demonstrated her talent both as a designer (in the case of OC) and as a muse.
This is how the actress reinvents the maternity style:

Last month, out for a walk in the Big Apple with her partner, Sevigny made one of the most complex styling tricks in the maternity wardrobe look easy. Dressing in layers is not the easiest thing in the world when you have a pregnant gut, so let's take a closer look at what we have here. First of all, a trapeze cut shirt (from Chloé; technically speaking, we could say that it is a shirt dress, so it will be very useful for the post-maternity wardrobe). Then we have the black flared pants, which give us as much comfort as a very modern “base” for any maternity look. The rest is Sevigny in its purest form: the distressed leather jacket and the oversized denim overshirt, the Loewe Balloon bag and its ubiquitous black sunglasses.

The perfect example of how to reuse an eye-catching coat that we wouldn't find in the maternity section (in this case, a Simone Rocha tartan trench coat, which we first saw in April 2020). A styling trick that all future moms should sign up for? Don't keep your favorite coat yet, put it open. The Sevigny touch? Defy the conventions of maternity style with fitted high boots (second skin type) and a draped knit dress (more suitable for going out at night) as a day look.

The star took to the streets in a very informal style: floral motifs on one side and her New York aura on the other. Wrapped in a loving brown coat combined with a cascade of ruffles and unique moccasins, she put the Sevigny stamp with the blue flower on her head, which gives the look that air of who-cares-always representing the countercultural icon of the nineties).
A bit of folklore (and Gucci's)

We have also seen Sevigny in his hometown wearing the unmistakable craftsmanship of Alessandro Michele; This is probably her best maternity look to date. Gucci's blue coat, with its delicate embroideries, comes straight from the Italian house's fall-winter 2018/2019 show. Flamboyant cowboy boots - another hobbs and shaw jason statham jacket - and Loewe's Balloon bag round off this winning look.
