Good news for all cricket fans!!! It’s even better for those fans who enjoyed the Emirates D10 Tournament that started in July and ended in August of 2020. The new tournament Emirates D20 has just begun on 6th December.

After the success of the Emirates D10 Tournament, Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) announced to host a new tournament Emirates D20 tournament in partnership with Dream 11. The tournament is powered by Sky247.net.

In case you are not familiar with Sky247, it is a sports news web portal that brings information related to diverse sports including Cricket, Football, Tennis, and Basketball. Sky247 sees this partnership with ECB for the Emirates D20 tournament as an opportunity to take its brand to the next level.

What is Emirates D20 Tournament?

Emirates D20 tournament is a new domestic T20 cricket tournament which is hosted by Emirates Cricket Board and powered by Sky247.net. The 6 UAE cricket teams that represent cricket councils of UAE will compete in this tournament.

The tournament started on 6th December and is scheduled to end on 24th December. There will be altogether 33 matches in this tournament to decide the winner. The tournament is happening in the UAE and its main venue will be Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Teams Participating in Emirates D20 Tournament

As already mentioned, 6 UAE cricket teams representing cricket councils of UAE participate in this tournament. They are:

1. Fujairah Pacific Ventures
2. ECB Blues
3. Sharjah Bukhatir XI
4. Dubai Pulse Secure
5. Ajman Alubond
6. Team Abu Dhabi

In the group stage, all the participating teams will compete against each other in a double round-robin format. After the completion of group stages, the knock-out stages begin. All the participating teams are all those teams that competed in Emirates D10 Tournament.

Emirates Cricket Board has taken an integral step in the development and promotion of cricket in the UAE by announcing this domestic D20 tournament. The cricket teams of the tournament will have both talented senior and new rising players. The event will be a platform for young talents in cricket to showcase their abilities.

Emirates D20 tournament will be a very important event for participating teams and players as this tournament will be considered for selecting players to represent the UAE in the future. The matches of the tournament will be observed by Robin Singh, the Director of Cricket of the UAE, and the members of the National Selection Committee for examining the performance of players for future selection for the UAE national team.
