Chief Minister Yogi immediately directed all concerned officials that the Prime Minister has called for a vaccine festival from the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on April 11 to the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. He directed the officials to ensure successful conduct of the vaccine festival and to prepare an action plan and get more and more people from the target groups vaccinated.
Yogi said he will interact with mayors and councillors of all municipal corporations through Webinar regarding covid vaccination. He directed to ensure preparations for the same.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi attended prime minister Modi's video conferencing from his official residence tonight. The Prime Minister had a video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of various States of the country on the present status of Covid-19 and the progress of corona vaccination.
During the video conferencing, Chief Minister Yogi said that under the able guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the Uttar Pradesh government is making effective efforts to prevent Covid-19. The cooperation provided by the Central Government has greatly helped in strengthening the medical infrastructure in the State. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for this. He said uttar pradesh has set a great example for the country and the world under the guidance of the Prime Minister in the country's fight against corona.
Giving details of major activities to control Covid-19 in the state, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has expeditiously expanded the corona testing facilities. As of March, 2020, there was not a single laboratory capable of testing covid-19 in the state. The State Government carried out the task of increasing the testing capacity on Mission Mode. As a result, the facility of testing of Covid-19 is available in 125 public sector and 104 private sector laboratories in the State today. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for achieving the capacity of Covid-19 to conduct 0.2 lakh tests per day in the State.
The Chief Minister told the Prime Minister that the state government is giving special emphasis on covid vaccination. So far, more than 80 lakh persons have been vaccinated against corona vaccine. Under this, more than 0.5 lakh people were vaccinated on 5th April last by setting up a bench mark. On an average, 3.5 to 4 lakh people are being vaccinated every day. Efforts are being made to ensure that the vaccine does not have vestige.
There will be no complete lockdown in the country, says PM
During the video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi clarified that the country is not going to face a complete lockdown. However, he appealed to all people not to be negligent about corona. It also advised the State Governments to increase testing and control infections through the Retention Zone. The Prime Minister also suggested using the word corona curfew for night curfew. He said that by saying corona curfew, people will maintain awareness about corona. Modi has also announced on the occasion that the vaccine festival will be celebrated in the country from April 11 to 14. The Prime Minister also appealed to everyone above the age of 45 years to get a corona vaccine.
