Marina Beach, Chennai
Said to be one of Chennai's reserves, Marina Beach is one of the most long-drawn beaches in Asia, if not in the world. Although swimming is not allowed, Marina Beach remains to attract people on tour as well as the locals. Not too far from the city, and filled with statues of famous Indians, it is a respite from the hustle-bustle of the nearby municipality. These beaches do not give the usual idyllic sun, sea and surf but the isolated serenity of gazing out to the horizon, mainly when they are free from the masses of visitors.
